One of the most unique and innovative dining experiences in Los Angeles, The Lab is USC’s award-winning gastropub. The Lab is a playful riff on a science laboratory, complete with slate-topped tables, beakers as vases, and bookshelves adorned with science textbooks. Signature beers are served in beakers, and guests can enjoy delicious gastropub fare for lunch and dinner. The Lab is located next to the Galen Center and features a large front patio, making it an ideal scene for pre- and post-game events.
Our chefs showcase their culinary expertise daily at Parkside, the centerpiece of USC residential dining. Its bright atmosphere revolves around four exhibition-style kitchens, each representing a different regional style of cuisine. In one kitchen, guests can observe our chefs finishing a flaming wok of fresh stir-fry. Or they can choose from a wide variety of European and American classics, with the occasional south-of-the-border specialty thrown in for good measure. The cooking and serving stations circle the perimeter of a beautiful 410-seat dining area with a rosewood floor and floor- to-ceiling rotunda windows that look out over Parkside’s south lawn.

Opening in the fall of 2010, The Ronald Tutor Campus Center will be the hub of student activity on the main USC campus. The 192,000-square-foot space will house USC Hospitality venues including a signature fine dining restaurant, convenience store, large food court featuring California Pizza Kitchen, Wahoo’s Fish Tacos, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Panda Express, and Carl’s Jr., as well as Lemonade, a Los Angeles-based chef-driven concept, and the famous campus pub, Traditions.
In order to provide low-cost alternative transportation options to USC travelers, USC Transportation operates twenty-one vanpools throughout L.A., Orange, and Riverside counties. Riders enjoy brand new ten-passenger vans, along with a free-ride-home guarantee (for those who work late and miss their ride), as well as three free parking permits per month for work days that don’t match the vanpool schedule.
USC Transportation offers free shuttle service between the main campus, Union Station, the Health Sciences campus and L.A. Live. Twelve of twenty-four buses now operate on propane and compressed natural gas, and the remaining buses run on B-20 biodiesel. Many of the vehicles used as part of the Campus Cruiser program are hybrid vehicles, and USC Transportation also operates a fleet of electric carts.
McKay’s is USC’s sports-themed fine dining restaurant dedicated to celebrated coach John McKay. Located next to the Galen Athletic Center and a short distance from the Coliseum, the restaurant features contemporary American fare served in an approachable dining room and lounge complete with vignettes highlighting the legendary coach’s storied career and sense of humor. An intimate and elegant private dining room is also available for meetings and events.
The ballroom and meeting spaces at the Radisson Hotel at USC are designed for all uses and available to faculty, staff, student organizations, and off-campus clients. The hotel renovated these spaces in 2010 as part of a phased facility upgrade for the entire hotel.
The USC Bookstore’s original private label clothing company is part of an innovative and dynamic partnership with USC Athletics. All product and graphic design is cutting-edge and it’s all done in-house by our own talented designers. Additionally, every vendor factory is audited annually and rigorously held to USC’s Code of Compliance.
UCP produces hard and soft copy course readers for over 40 universities nationwide, and it clears every copyright on each reader it produces. UCP is widely recognized as one of the nation’s oldest and most reliable course reader companies in the business.
The USC bookstore takes a fresh, stylish approach to its logo inventory. Much of the product and graphic design is done in-house, and the staff is recruited from the best companies in the clothing business, including Abercrombie & Fitch, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Hollister, and Polo Ralph Lauren. Logo products are sold through three different websites and five brick and mortar storefronts.
In 2009, USC entered into an innovative property management agreement with the Westar Real Estate Group. USC Housing now manages nine Westar-owned properties around the main USC campus, adding nearly 800 student beds to existing student housing, and bringing USC’s standards of service and support to our off-campus residents. Tuscany (pictured here) is the luxurious flagship of the Westar properties.
These two residential colleges are the newest and most modern facilities in the USC Housing inventory. Featuring live-in faculty, classrooms, collaborative learning centers, and recreation and workout facilities, the Parkside Residential Colleges provide all the elements of a robust and rewarding residential living and learning environment.
Fully renovated in 2006, Webb Tower is the flagship of USC Housing’s upperclassmen apartments. Centrally located on campus with all the modern amenities, Webb Tower has 108 apartments and houses over 300 students. At 15 stories it boasts one of the best views of Los Angeles.
